A nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation organized for literary and educational purposes, Dos Gatos Press seeks to make poetry more widely available to the reading public and to support writers of poetry—especially in Texas and the Southwest. Scott Wiggerman and David Meischen founded Dos Gatos Press in 2004. Dos Gatos Press has published the Texas Poetry Calendar annually since 2006.

The League of Canadian Poets is the professional organization for established and emerging Canadian poets. Founded in 1966 to nurture the advancement of poetry in Canada, and the promotion of the interests of poets, it now comprises some 700 members. The League serves the poetry community and promotes a high level of professional achievement through events, networking, projects, publications, mentoring and awards.

- to hear poetry during author readings, open mics, panel discussions, and performances;
- to practice the craft of poetry through writing workshops;
- to speak/share works aloud bringing words from the page to the stage via open mics, featured readings, and round-table sharing during workshops.
All WordFest events are FREE and open to the public of all ages.
