There are many hotels that are reasonable and nearby festival events and readings. Look for hotels in South Central Austin.

The Excel Inn has been a popular place to stay for past festivals and is offering special rates for festival attendees. Single rooms are $55.99 and doubles are $61.99. There are even better rates for seniors. Be sure to mention the festival to get the reduced rate.

A more expensive, but extremely hip choice is the Austin Motel, located at 1220 S. Congress Ave. (512) 441-1157.

The Holiday Inn on Town Lake is also a convenient choice.
